Gryffindor was Reserve Champion Colt at the Chestnut Lawn ISR/Oldenburg N.A. Evaluation in September, 2002. He received an 8.1. on movement and a premium foal award. He will be gray like his parents and should mature to about 16.2 hands.
His dam, Serina, has had a successful career as a fox hunter and an eventer. She loves to jump and has a great disposition. She has passed these traits to Gryff -- he was free jumping in the ring, including combinations, just for the heck of it at age 17 months. His sire, Graf Genius, has competed in dressage through the 4th level. Gryff has his floating gaits.
Gryff is very quiet, friendly and has good ground manners. He leads, ties and loads. He is good with the farrier and the vet. Gryff has wonderful potential as a sport horse in dressage, eventing or the hunter ring.
He has started under saddle and lightly ridden for a year. It has been absolutely NO issue for him. He has willing mind for the work. Gryff works in the ring alone or with other horses. He has been ridden outside the ring as well. He may be young and green, but he’s a dream to work with. It’s hard to believe that he is a green youngster because he is so quiet and so willing. He will only get more expensive as his training continues. Price good through 3/31/06.
