Buster is the type of horse that if he hasn't already done it, it won't take him long to learn. I have used him mainly hunt seat as he has wonderful, powerful gaits. He really knows how to use his hind end. We have done flat work, over fences, which he loves, and trails. I started my then 5 year old daughter on him. He seems to have a thing for little girls.
The people we bought him from used him for western. He was shown Paint by a 10 year old girl in walk trot. Her Dad did barrels and Team Penning with him. Said he placed in the money his first time out in Team penning. He has done the Michigan Shore to Shore Trail ride.
He ties, clips, bathes, loads, longes, round pens. He stands for farrier, has good feet. I only shoe on front in the summer if I am going to be doing a lot of road rides. He is not fond of the vet but will stand.
He has not had any soundness or health issues. He is up to date on all shots, wormings and coggins. Is a easy keeper.
Why in the world am I selling this wonderful horse? I am starting a new business giving lessons and unfortunately it seems the only thing he isn't good at is lessons. He can be ridden by supervised beginners without a problem, but he gets cranky when he is ridden by a lot of them. I need all of my horses to be usable for lessons and he just isn't happy doing it.
I will consider a 10-15 year old, lesson appropriate, gelding as a partial trade.
