| :Due to financial hardship, registered Hackney pony gelding needs good home. "Mark" is 17 years (but doesn't act like it!), dark bay with 3 whites and snip, 13.2 hh, and is a cobtail. He's a bigger pony. He drove fine harness (Hackney division) in his youth, and was doing some carriage driving; he was trained to go tandem (lead position) in 2001. He has not been driven since 2002, but he is a smart pony who loves attention and loves to be doing something, so I have no doubt if someone spent some time, he'd get right back into it. I think he'd also make a good Pleasure Pony for fine harness, if someone were interested in that avenue. He has snappy action. He is a wonderful pony, and loves people and attention. He’s a big ham. I prefer that he goes to an experienced driver, and to someone who likes Hackneys and would enjoy this type of pony. Has all shots, has had regular farrier appointments (he is currently unshod), and was last seen by an excellent dentist in April 2008; I have used this dentist for 14 years. He will go with his stable blanket, cotton sheet, waterproof turnout sheet, halters, leads, and a set of nylon/Velcro pony leg wraps for trailering. $500.00 neg.; the right home is important. |
